The Children’s Justice Center of Washington County
“Before there were Children’s Justice Centers (called Children’s Advocacy Centers, or CACs in other parts of the country), investigation of child abuse required multiple interviews of the child victim by the police, social services, medical personnel, mental health professionals and attorneys. Each interview occurred at a different place and rarely in a setting that was familiar or comfortable for the child.
Now, the Children’s Justice Center provides a homelike environment where a single interview is conducted by a trained child forensic interviewer, and all of the professionals then work together to provide the best-possible outcome for the child and family.”
The Washington County Multidisciplinary Team includes representatives from:
Law enforcement
Child Protective Services
Prosecution
Mental health
Medical
Victim advocacy
Child forensic interviewer
Children’s Justice Center
Your suggested $20 minimum donation is your ticket into this year’s Great Escape Fundraiser!
Where will your donation go?
· Maintaining a safe, accessible, child-friendly center.
· Providing needed equipment so that our professional staff can do their jobs.
· Purchasing supplies for our office and medical room.
· Training our staff and partner agencies (including law enforcement, prosecutors, medical and mental health providers, and Child Protective Services) on best practice and evidenced-based methods.
· Providing comfort items.
St. George Day Spa’s amazing staff of massage therapists and estheticians will be offering free mini services throughout the duration of the evening. St. George Day Spa will also be featuring exclusive discounts on specific packages, services and boutique items! We are excited to welcome back Shari from Flash Fused Permanent Jewelry, who will be doing permanent jewelry on the evening of this fundraiser. Bring your friends and mingle with food and drinks, enjoy your swag bags and free services, and enter to win prizes donated by local businesses! We are also excited to be joined by Monica from 99.9 KONY Country, who will be broadcasting LIVE!
